Time has an amazing slideshow of meat-based cocktails. It is pretty remarkable. Here is the recipe for a beef jerky-based drink appropriately called The Butcher.

•1 strip beef jerky
•1/4 oz. honey syrup
•2 oz. aged rum
•1 orange peel
•dash of whiskey bitters
Soak beef jerky in aged rum for 30 minutes.
Stir infused rum, honey syrup and bitters and pour into a martini glass.
Flame an orange peel (Follow directions for burnt-orange component of the Breakfast Fizz recipe.)
Use slice of beef jerky for garnish.
•2 oz. honey
•1 oz. hot water
Shake ingredients in closed container until mixed.
If this is not evidence of human progress I don’t know what is.
